Kill 16 - Video

This again.

[Kazuo studies things before removing a City coin from his pocket. He studies it a moment and it doesn't seem clear as to what he is going to do with it. Then, he flips it in the air.

When it comes back down he catches it.]

I play.

[And that is all. There is a crossbow in his hands now and he is on the hunt for everyone in the game.]

[ooc: Kazuo here will fight anyone and is trying to kill people. If you're interested in him killing your character, he's your man. Just let me know what is okay and what isn't. (I'm always okay with setting up an escape scenario or Kazou getting hurt instead.) Open to action here or other replies. Just know that now that he's in hunt mode, he probably won't say a single word.]

[Kazuo loses his grip and falls back on a branch below. He has cuts on him but he still doesn't seem like it's had any impact at all. Especially not with the way he rises up and starts climbing for Clef again.

In a flash, he's out of his jacket and throwing that upwards as a distraction as he flips up the other direction to get into a higher branch that Clef. Like he's vanished from sight.]

[ Crap. Who knows where he went? He could attack from anywhere.

Since he can't be seen, Clef tries to just sense him instead. The eye is pretty easily tricked, anyway, as is evidenced by how effective that maneuver was just now. ]

[Well look who is now hanging from a tree branch above by his knees? He has a knife in hand and he slashes that at Clef while he's distracted.

Someone isn't against stabbing someone in the back.]

[ Clef notices just in time to receive a knife to the face. It isn't a huge wound or anything, but he does cover his face with both hands and yell.

~~It's his face, okay. Don't judge him.~~

There isn't even a specific spell involved here, just a very unhappy mage who just got unexpectedly knifed in a sensitive area not very far from various important bits. Call it a defense mechanism. Several shafts of light go flying towards Kazuo from out of nowhere - warm, glowing-white beams of pure energy that act more like sharpened shafts of metal than any kind of light. ]

[Kazuo falls from where he's hanging, his body cut up. He knows he needs to treat his body and debates on whether he should right now or not.

Catching a branch, he swings onto it and begins to inspect his wounds, already cutting away pieces of his shirt with his knife to tie off the more serious ones.]

You're... familiar with this?

[ Clef hesitates a moment. This guy is in definite danger of being attacked with more pointy things from out of nowhere and he's just settling down to treat his injuries?! It's a lot harder to attack someone who isn't actively attacking you.

Then again, he doesn't really have to kill him - it's just that he'd be willing to, if it came to that. With a wave of his hand, another gale shakes the boughs of the tree, this time spiraling its way around Kazuo's in an attempt to trap him within the hurricane-force walls of wind. ]

[Typically he wouldn't respond. But for this...]

Yes.

[He ignores the winds for now, only focusing on them once he's done with taking care of the most serious wounds. When that is done, he tilts his head to regard the winds. As if searching for a weak point.]

[Huey had kept running through the forest engaging in skirmishes against other people afflicted with the curse. Sure he had managed to avoid killing most he encountered, but he slowly found himself moving towards the option of taking life over sparing a person who would probably come back to chase after him again. He tightened his grip on the spear he had taken off his last opponent due to the advantage it would give him against most people with melee weapons.

Though against somebody armed with a projectile weapon he knew he'd be at a major disadvantage. Such thoughts would come to an end as he plodded to a stop and looked at the stoic teenager making his way through the forest.]

This day just needs to end.

[Tilting his head, Kazuo regarded Huey for a time. One of the players in this apparently. That was the logical conclusion. And if that was the case...

He lifted his crossbow so that it was aimed at his throat...and fired.]

[Huey barely sidesteps in time to avoid getting his throat opened like his first opponent of the day. He narrows his eyes at his newest adversary and charges at him with a surprising burst of speed, the tip of the spear aimed directly for Kazuo's chest.]

[Umi stumbles upon this earlier video post while trying to use the Network to figure out what the hell is going on and Umi... can only stare at it for a while.

So this is what he meant, decided by a coin toss...

This... this is too much. Too infuriating, too saddening, even if she knows why he acts like this. And the worst part is she knows this isn't because he's under the effect of the curse. Kazuo is only doing exactly what he did back then.]

[Reaching out with a hand, he grabs the staff of the spear and uses the momentum to try knocking it out of his opponent's hands. The motion is smooth and flawless. As if he's a martial arts expert.]

[Welcome to the reality of just what it means to be Kazuo, Umi. Everything that it means to be him.]

[And his eyes widen as he recognizes the technique being used against him. He lets go of the weapon and springs backwards while settling into a stance while attempting to gauge the older boy in front of him.]

[Dropping the empty crossbow, Kazuo swings the new weapon around and changes his stance completely to handle the new weapon. He holds it like this and waits to see what the other will do.]

[Just because he's lost his new main weapon doesn't mean that he's unarmed. He reaches behind his back and pulls out the sword-breaker which he had kept from his first kill.]

Would you be adverse to giving up and letting me pass?

[The look in the other's eyes informs Huey that he had just asked a stupid question but he had to do something to try and change the pace from following Kazuo's flow.]

[It's like Huey didn't just draw a weapon and that the words were never spoken. For in the next moment, Kazuo is moving quickly, jabbing the air over and over then swinging it around like a quarterstaff to try smacking the staff against him, following it up with the blade again.

Not once does he stop moving, fully intending to injure the other and watching every move he makes in the process.]

Truly a pleasure to see my gifts appreciated.

[Typically he wouldn't respond. But this person isn't part of the game. This person provides gifts. He doesn't care about that but the proper response is a thank you.

By the time he responds to this, he has blood on his face that clearly isn't his own. He looks just as calm as when he started and he nods his thanks.]

[Defense honed from fighting more psychos helped to keep him from being killed but injured was an entirely different story. The final strike from Kazuo's attack cut open a small gash across his chest.]

[Pulling back, Kazuo uses the moment of making the gash to swing the weapon around to try smacking the weapon from the other boy's hand. Disarmed was more convenient if he could achieve it.]
